How to Create a Balanced Grid Layout for a Design Portfolio

I’m working on a design portfolio and want to use a grid layout to showcase my work, but I’m finding it tricky to strike the right balance between structure and creativity. I don’t want it to feel too rigid or overly uniform, but at the same time, I want it to look clean and professional.

Here are a few challenges I’m facing:

Deciding on the right number of columns and spacing to make the grid adaptable across different devices.
Incorporating a mix of project thumbnails and larger highlight pieces without disrupting the overall flow.
Maintaining visual hierarchy while keeping everything aligned within the grid.
