How can we make flag design more meaningful and visually modern?

I’m working on a project that focuses on exploring and showcasing the flags of all countries, as well as the stories and meanings behind their designs. During my research, I realized that many flags have deep cultural and historical significance, yet their visual design sometimes feels outdated in a modern context.
