Designing for Trust: How small details impact your brand’s perceived authority
Hi everyone,
When designing for new startups, one of the biggest challenges is making a brand-new business look "established." We can use high-quality imagery and smooth animations, but sometimes the smallest details provide the strongest trust signals.
I’ve found that consistency in brand identity often extends beyond the color palette or logo. For instance, in many Asian markets where phone communication is still central to business, the contact number is a vital part of the brand.
I recently worked on a fintech project where the client’s original random phone number felt "temporary" and unprofessional on the footer. I suggested they look for a sim so dep—a premium, structured number that implies long-term stability. From a branding perspective, seeing a well-balanced, easy-to-read number on a website makes the business feel more "solid" and reliable to the end user.
My questions to the community:
Do you consider the "contact info" as a design element or just functional data?
What other "trust signals" do you integrate into your UI to help small brands look more professional?
Would love to hear your experiences!
